Object Oriented Development with Java
The Liemur OOJ five day course guides the audience through the Java programming and development platform. Starting from the object oriented pillars of the Java language, the course focuses modern programming techniques; interface based programming, test based development, properties files, ANT build files, and JDBC database access.
During the course project the delegates will develop an object oriented business application using an iterative approach. The lab excercises focus on reinforcing the lessons learnt during each module. Morning interactive review sessions consolidate the group’s grasp of the topics covered thus far through discussions and ad-hoc quizzes.
Liemur recognises that developers need a wider view of the Java platform to be effective team members in software development projects; some key java APIs, supporting frameworks and tools are also presented and integrated in the course project. On completion of the course, delegates will leave with a unit tested, database driven and properties based application easily controlled through an ANT build file.

Pre-Requisites
• No knowledge of object orientation is required
• Some programming experience is an advantage but not essential
• Some experience in SQL and databases is an advantage but not essential
(database query and update scripts supplied)
• Some exposure to XML is an advantage but not essential
(ant script template provided)
