Introduction to Web Services

The IWS course discusses the Web Services standards (SOAP, WSDL, and UDDI), their inner workings and how they operate in conjunction to allow platform/product independent communication.

Web Services is a very loose term broadly classifying data interchange over networks. Web Services are defined by standards, the benefits of which are that products and platforms that follow these can communicate seamlessly regardless of technology.

Web Services are meant to be supported by the underlying technical platform (J2EE, .NET …). This course demonstrates how software tools handle Web Services standards. These demonstrations lead to group discussions and observations enabling delegates to understand how Web Services are used in their application domains.
